I ran across this quote on Facebook and it stopped me in my tracks.
“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me.'”
– Erma Bombeck
This is a powerful reminder to simply keep trying.
As many times as I’ve stumble. As many wrong decisions as I’ve made. They are proof of a woman trying.
I am convinced it is through the trying, the stumbling, the tripping and falling that God steers us.
Even if He gave us a clear direction, would we actually take it? Would we trust Him? And if we did, what vitally important life lessons would we skip along the way?
When I stand before God at the end I don’t think its going to be the mistakes I’ve made that He highlights, rather the heart of a woman who persevered.
When I stand before God at the end, I don’t think He’ll be highlighting all of my mistakes and shortcomings. Rather I believe He will see the heart of a woman who persevered.
“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful with a few things I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master. – Mathew 25:21
If we try with a pure heart. If we seek Him in all that we do. When we fall, we fall forward. We fall toward a loving God who picks us up, mends our wounds and helps us to carry on to the finish line.
What an amazing God we serve!
The photo of the quote I found on Facebook was very bland, not doing it justice at all. Wanting to hang this quote up as a beautiful reminder to keep trying, I made a beautiful printable for you and me.
