I’ve been praying for God to move mountains or move me. Whichever needed moving, I wanted moving.
Then, on the wings of a Sunday sermon came some much needed wisdom.
Grow where you are planted
I was trying to get things to move when God was clearly saying, grow here where you are. Trust me here. Let go of the need to move because it is here that I have placed you. You can grow and flourish right where you are. Trust me.
After so many attempts to forcefully make something happen, I felt a peace come over me. I didn’t need to try and push and muster. I needed, instead, to surrender.
“The more we surrender, the more we plant ourselves in Gods trust.” – by Marshawn Evans Daniels in her book Believe Bigger (highly recommend)
It’s not about how far we can go. It’s not about what we can accomplish. Of this I constantly remind myself.
It’s about aligning ourselves with Christ. The answers are in the surrender. The provision is in the surrender. Our purpose is found in our surrender.
I’ve hesitated sharing this because its not a popular belief. Some will read this and think I’m cray-cray, and that’s okay. I am here to share what God has done in my life and it has always been through my surrender that He has done monumental things!
I use to think of surrender as a dirty word. Now I see all the hope and promise it can bring.
What is God calling you to surrender? I’m betting its a multitude of things. Trust and let go, He will catch you.
