That’s right. This morning I was feeling anything but energetic and this ‘one new blog post a day challenge’ had me like… ugh.
Then my sister comes strolling down the stairs sharing all her new and exciting ideas for her blog and I was like… cool!
I am so excited for where she is going in her home business (because home businesses ROCK), check her out HERE. But I told her I wasn’t sure what I was suppose to be doing with my blog.
Sometime… you just need a pep talk from your sister
My sister: I thought you were writing one new post a day?
Me: I was going to…
My sister: I thought you were a “yes girl?”
Me: Right?! Okay fine…
Gah! I needed that. To bad you couldn’t see our facial expressions… they said a lot too.
Keep it simple – hello!
My sister then went on to say that back in the day, when blogs were something new and exciting, she followed bloggers that blogged upwards of three times a day!
I was like, what?! How in the world could someone create that much content in a single day!
My sister went on to say it was really simple stuff. Real simple, like what the blogger did that day or even a food diary (if it was a food blog) of what they ate and made.
She said she would refresh the screen again and again anticipating a new blog post from her special bloggers.
Now I am not saying I will be this interesting, but still. It put a little wind beneath my wings to keep going. Maybe this idea God popped into my head (being a #YESGIRL) wasn’t such a bad one. Not like God has bad ideas but I tend to question them more than I should.
After our little morning pep talk, I began my morning bible study from Proverbs31.org and low and behold the title was Recover Your Wonder.
The part that stopped me in my tracks was:
Because all the disappointment in the world will never change the promises of God, the reality of Jesus or His destiny for our lives. – Written by Christine Caine
He has a plan for my life and I can’t give up the pursuit of it now! How will I ever get there if I stop?
After that I scrolled Instagram, because you know… that’s what we do. And this….
I mean… can He get any more specific than using the words I was thinking?!
Some of my favorites were in there:
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we don not give up. – Galatians 6:9
As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good. 2 Thessalonians 3:13
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14
And I am sure o this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6
>>> Lesson of the day – DON’T GIVE UP!
God speaks if we listen. God speaks even when we don’t so He places photos, like what caught my attention above, to get our attention.
I will continue this journey. I must have heard Him right the first time 😉
A song that just popped into my head: I’m letting go of the life I planned for me, and my dreams by F
Try as I might to plan my life out it through random moments and saying yes to the uncomfortable that will lead to growth and purpose. God is trying to get me out of my comfort zone to experience this first hand. I can see it now, and I cant give up.
I am funny, silly and random, though I’m sure you wouldn’t know it from my previous posts. I believe is why God has me doing this. So you can get to know the real me and I can get to know you. No personas, no hiding behind social media. Lets get real and honest and reach through the internet world for relationships that matter.
Because in all honestly that’s why I started this blog. To connect. Being a stay a home mom, I sincerely miss socializing, though it is getting easier as our kids get older.
So I apply my wonderful smelling, spirit lifting essential oils, and get on with my day.
I think I’m starting to get exited about posting once a day. As long as I keep it simple (I struggle with this) I think this could be really fun!
Drop a comment folks! Let me know I’m not talking to myself!
