I am so behind on this one post a day quest! There is reason for it though. Not only because, well ‘life,’ but our oldest son turned 8 years old this month. We celebrated with family at a local bowling alley. I am now a mom of an 8 year old!
I big milestone for this little guy and a big moment for me, his mama. Not that I want to steal his special moment but as a mother, it is a true honor to watch my children grow and thrive!
He was a very sick baby when he first arrived into the world. We almost lost him. Every birthday we celebrate I think back to the hard beginning he had and the miracle that he is. In spite of it all, he is strong, smart and unwilling to let anything hold him back.
Being our first, he has taught me so much of what it is to be a mother. My prayer is I never hold him back. I never question his dreams and that I am his biggest cheerleader. He has a lot to offer this world with his sweet and gentle spirit.
Danny may have had a rough start but he proved to me he’s a fighter.
God uses those life struggles to propel us forward, to strengthen us, to tie us to Him. The prayer’s we received in the hospital is why Danny is with us today. I felt the power of those prayers and I will forever remind Danny of the way he was covered in prayer, by people he may never even meet. God brought him through something that could have claimed his little life because there is a special plan and purpose for him.
It was a great evening and a perfect reminder of what is most important in our lives…
