The ingredients in this DIY face serum work to nurture and encourage radiant facial skin without any harmful chemicals! I can literally throw this recipe together over my bathroom sink. It’s a beautiful serum and so easy to make.
Grapeseed oil – 100% pure, organic and cold pressed.
Frankincense essential oil
Lavender essential oil
There is a direct link in my SHOP tab up at the top to purchase the blue glass pump you see pictured. It comes in a pack of four and they work amazingly well – no leaks! Two pumps will cover my face and neckline.
If you don’t want to order the glass pumps simply pick a glass container that fits a lid.
You can decorate the glass with metallic Sharpi pens – though it doesn’t last long. You can also purchase labels from Etsy. Dress it up, make it pretty and hand them out as gifts!
- 5 drops Frankincense
- 5 drops Lavender
- 1/2 oz Grapeseed oil
- Pour oils into container together, swirl, don’t shake the oils around the glass. Add Grapeseed oil and swirl some more. DONE!
What’d I tell you? Quick and easy!
I’ve been using this face serum for a while and I love it! Let me break down the ingredients we use.
Grapeseed oil. Have you heard how great it is for your skin? It’s non-comedogenic, meaning it doesn’t clog pours (unlike coconut oil). It is known to treat acne, tighten skin, help diminish dark circles around eyes, moisturize, reduce scars, restore collagen and fight aging!
Frankincense: Not many people know if its skin loving constituents. We add this to the grapeseed oil to minimize visual blemishes and add a healthy-looking glow. It really does help promote a beautiful complexion.
Lavender: Most people know the beauty of Lavender and its effect on our skin. The aroma alone is soothing and relaxing. We add this oil to promote skin health and balance.
I know I look scared in the video below (thanks Facebook for pausing it on THAT face) but I’m really not. Even though Facebook live scares me, I’m more excited to share the recipe than not 🙂
If you are looking for how and where to purchase these oils please do your research. Ordering oils from Amazon can be quite dangerous and purchasing oils from the store are not considered pure by any means! If you truly want pure, unadulterated oils, and you do because this is your face we are talking about, than explore my Get Started with Essential Oils page.
Don’t mess around with oils that contain chemical extenders and synthetics. Get the good stuff, the oils that offer emotional support, skin loving qualities and so much more!
This recipe comes from a book by Jen O’Sullivan – French Aromatherapy: Essential oil recipes and usage guide. Direct link to purchase is in SHOP tab at the top. She contains several other face serums, lotions, perfumes, roll-on’s and more using essential oils! It’s a book I have learned a lot from and always suggest with the purchase of the Premium Starter Kit.
